16 Days of Activism November 25 – December 10, 2017

End Violence Against Women

Zonta International’s “16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence Campaign” is a time to galvanize action to end violence against women and girls around the world. The international campaign originated from the first Women’s Global Leadership Institute coordinated by the Center for Women’s Global Leadership in 1991.

Zonta Says NO!

“Zonta Says NO to Violence Against Women” is a Zonta International campaign to raise awareness of and increase actions to end violence against women and girls around the world.  The campaign features the service and advocacy action of Zonta clubs and districts to prevent and end violence against women and girls in their local communities.

District 8 encourages all clubs to participate in the 16 Days Campaign.  This year’s focus is on Anti-Trafficking.  Go to ZontaSaysNo.com and click on Get the Facts.  There you will find a list of facts about violence against women that you can download and share with your members.  There are also sheets of information on how to put advocacy into action against violence against women and human trafficking in line with the Istanbul Convention.  Follow ZontaSaysNO on Facebook, and share and amplify their posts.
