Sample Letter to Candidate/Representative
Dear
The ERA Coalition, and our Zonta Club of MyTown is reaching out to all candidates running for federal office to survey their positions on the Equal Rights Amendment, a federal constitutional amendment that prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex. This information will be used to educate our 80 million supporters and over 300 Coalition partners. The ERA Coalition is a non-partisan 501(c)(4) organization; all candidates who support the Equal Rights Amendment will be listed as supporters and are eligible to be designated as ERA-certified.
Please fill out the ERA Coalition survey here: https://form.jotform.com/241224392138149
If we do not receive a response, we will use publicly available information on your position on the ERA if available. In addition to sharing survey responses we are launching our first round of ERA Certified candidates on July 4th. All candidates who would like to be designated as ERA Certified must submit a questionnaire. We will be updating our database regularly.
The ERA Coalition, and Zonta USA, as well as Zonta Club of My Town will be sharing information on our Elect Equality campaign and candidate positions with our 300 Coalition partners, individual supporters and through our social media channels.
The ERA certification does not represent an endorsement from the ERA Coalition. Instead, it is a clear commitment to our Coalition and supporters that the candidate will govern with the Equal Rights Amendment and Gender Equality in mind.
Best wishes,
Jane Doe,
Advocacy Chair and
Susie Smith,
President, Zonta Club of MyTown
