Elect Equality 2024 a National Campaign of the ERA Coalition

Join the Work to Elect Equality

Candidates who submit the questionnaire and meet the criteria will go on  the National Elect Equality list, supported by the hundreds of member organizations of the ERA Coalition.  This is political and Non-partisan way to highlight ALL candidates from any party whose actions or positions explicitly support gender equality.
We will then work as a national force, including zonta clubs, in sharing the information this fall about candidates who are Equality friendly, so we together, Elect Equality.

Elect Equality Website
Dear ERA Coalition Partner Organizations,
We want to make sure you are aware of our upcoming launch of Elect Equality, which will be in connection with the 4th of July and preserving our democracy. You can find the Elect Equality website here: https://www.eracoalition.org/electequality/.
If you have a candidate or current sitting member whom you would like to see in this first launch, please ask them to submit the candidate questionnaire which you can find here: https://form.jotform.com/241224392138149.
We have prepared a sample letter that can be sent to candidates at the following link:https://docs.google.com/document/d/1qBBLNTz9P7n8SXZeSBOBrBPja1c6HpJcy4r9KEworgY/edit?usp=sharing
We are sending the press release on Friday, July 5, with the first round of candidates. However, candidates will be able to receive the certification throughout the election cycle if they do not receive it in this round. For sitting members, as long as they get the questionnaire in by July 4 they will likely be certified in this round.
We will be launching our Elect Equality video on July 4th and will send you a social kit tomorrow, Wednesday, July 3.
We realize that you may not all be able to participate in this campaign but are sending to everyone for their awareness. Thank you all for helping to make this campaign a success!
Best wishes,

Sample Letter to Candidate/Representative

The ERA Coalition, and our Zonta Club of MyTown is reaching out to all candidates running for federal office to survey their positions on the Equal Rights Amendment, a federal constitutional amendment that prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex. This information will be used to educate our 80 million supporters and over 300 Coalition partners. The ERA Coalition is a non-partisan 501(c)(4) organization; all candidates who support the Equal Rights Amendment will be listed as supporters and are eligible to be designated as ERA-certified.

Please fill out the ERA Coalition survey here: https://form.jotform.com/241224392138149

If we do not receive a response, we will use publicly available information on your position on the ERA if available. In addition to sharing survey responses we are launching our first round of ERA Certified candidates on July 4th. All candidates who would like to be designated as ERA Certified must submit a questionnaire. We will be updating our database regularly.

The ERA Coalition, and Zonta USA, as well as Zonta Club of My Town will be sharing information on our Elect Equality campaign and candidate positions with our 300 Coalition partners, individual supporters and through our social media channels.

The ERA certification does not represent an endorsement from the ERA Coalition. Instead, it is a clear commitment to our Coalition and supporters that the candidate will govern with the Equal Rights Amendment and Gender Equality in mind.

Best wishes,

Jane Doe,

Advocacy Chair and

Susie Smith,

President, Zonta Club of MyTown
