October is domestic violence awareness month and child marriages encompass both child abuse and domestic violence. The children made to marry at a young age face many obstacles in their lives.

WE must change the law to #18NOExceptions and we need your support in getting this law passed for protecting California’s children.

On October 5-8, Zonta International’s District 9 is hosting a conference here in Burbank at the Marriott. 

On October 5th, the USA Caucus and the D9 Zonta Coalition to End Child Marriage in California will hold a press conference at noon to spread awareness about the need for ending child marriages.

Recently in July, our committee members went to Sacramento for a press conference/demonstration at the State Capitol. We are excited to hold one locally. Several local leaders and committee members, survivors of child marriage, will be speaking at this event.

We will be receiving a proclamation from the Burbank Mayor with members of the City Council. Please join us in support at noon at the #Burbank City Hall and Make a Difference for Children in #California!
