District 8 Young Woman in Public Affairs Award

District 8 Clubs offer local Young Women in Public Affairs Awards to girls engaged in public service.

The Award recognizes young women, ages 16-19, who demonstrate superior leadership skills and a commitment to public service and civic causes, and encourages them to continue their participation in public and political life. Applications MUST be submitted to your nearest Zonta Club by the CLUB DEADLINE.

 

Local award winners are automatically entered for the District YWPA award, and become a candidate for the international recognition and award. District 8 (Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Alaska and British Columbia) has seen two candidates win international awards in the past 5 years.

Ten (10) international scholarships of US$4,000 each and up to 32 district/region scholarships of US$1,000 each are awarded each year.
